Aidan The Builder
Aidan has been going to the free Home Depot kids workshops every month and he loves it! He's a building maniac. He says that it's not good to just build things without plans and designs first, though.Mama got him a toolbox kit at Woodworks in an attempt to keep him busy for more than an hour, and we let him go. I taught him how to hold and swing the hammer, how to brace his work, and he learned how to get the nails started in the top piece before attempting the main connection at the Home Depot workshop.
It looks like he'll be finished with this project by tomorrow, including paint. Guess I'll be searching for more projects this week...

We've also been going to the weekly Family Skate days at the Oaks Park rink for the past couple of months. It only costs $5 per child and the parent(s) are free. So it's a really great deal. We all have our own skates (I have quads, and Rita and Aidan have inlines), and we're getting good exercise. I'll try to remember to take the camera one of these times, but we're always so eager to just get out there and skate that I've forgotten every time since we started going.
Of course, the weather is warming up and Spring fishing fever has struck. I've been trying to get my boat set up, but since it's an inflatable, I have to keep it in the garage. This is a problem at the moment because the ramp is taking up all the space in the garage. So I'm shoveling gravel and wheeling it into the backyard to make a pad for the ramp so I can have my garage back. An aluminum boat is in my future (Rita agreed), but I think it will have to wait until next year. I will be able to store an aluminum boat outside, covered, of course, and it won't be so much of an involved setup each Spring to get out on the water. I can't wait...

Hi Aidan! You are just soo talented.....an artist, builder,
and who knows what else you will
be learning. Skating is something
Gramom never learned to do but
always wanted to. I am sure glad
you can skate. You must have soo
much fun with Mommy and Momma.
Remind Mommy to take the camera
next time okay?
Kathleen, Grampa had a 16ft. Bass
Treker-aluminum 7 1/2hp mercury.
He gave it to Greg more than 10yrs.
ago. Not sure if he still has it
although it hadn't been used for
a good twenty years. I'll ask him
if he still has it okay? When they
did use it, they enjoyed it.
Love you all!!!!
Aidan:
